Beowulf is a 2007 animated film loosely based on the Old English epic poem of the same name. Directed by Robert Zemeckis, the film was created through motion capture, a technique similar to that used by the director in The Polar Express. The cast includes Ray Winstone as Beowulf/Golden Man/Dragon, Anthony Hopkins as Hrothgar, Robin Wright Penn as Wealthow, Alison Lohman as Ursula, John Malkovich as Unferth, Crispin Glover as Grendel, Brendan Gleeson Wiglaf, and Angelina Jolie as Grendel's Mother. Beowulf plot outline: The warrior Beowulf (Ray Winstone) must fight and defeat the monster Grendel (Crispin Glover) who is terrorizing towns, and later, Grendel's mother (Angelina Jolie), who begins killing out of revenge. |
